FLOWZAN is a polymeric viscosifying agent
for fresh water, seawater and sodium chloride and potassium chloride brines.
Application
FLOWZAN can use any water – base mud system
to replace or supplement bentonite. Additions of FLOWZAN yield shear thinning
fluids. Viscosity is low at bit shear rates to optimize penetration, and is
high at low annular shear rates to provide maximum hole cleaning.
Recommended treatment
FLOWZAN should be mixed thought the mud
hopper at 25 to 30 minutes per sack to prevent “ balling” and “ fish eyes”. A
bactericide is needed to prevent biodegradation in freshwater and seawater
fluids. Concentration of 1,43 to 2,85 kg/m3 (0,5 to 1,0 lb/bbl) are normal
added to provide adequate viscisty.
