DISCRIPTION.
PACSEAL-R is a polyanionic
cellulosic polymer used to control filtration properties of water-base muds.
APPLICATION
PACSEAL-R is added to freshwater
or saltwater muds to reduce the filtration rate of the mud and improve filter
cake quality. The regular viscosity grade is normally used in low-soids and
low-weight muds. The super-low-viscosity grate is recommended for high solids
muds to avoid excessive viscosity build-up.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT.
Treatment level of PACSEAL-R vary
with the applications or properties desired, but normally 1.4 to 5.7 kg/m3
(0.5 to 2.0 lb/bbl) is used. The product should be mixed directly through the
mud hopper at a rate about 20 minutes per sack to avoid fish eyes and possible
loss over the shaker screen.
